A one-of-a-kind rave is coming to Manchester in the form of a topless blacklight paint party.
The team behind Party in Your Pants creates a safe space for female-identifying individuals to let loose, have fun and get creative with UV-reactive paint while upholding inclusive feminism and consent principles. Toplessness is completely optional at the “enlightened clubbing” party, which prides itself on being “fiercely anti-harassment.”
While the blacklight rave opens its doors to any inclusive feminist no matter their gender, partygoers must understand that personal responsibility is key. If you wouldn’t say a comment to your own sister, you shouldn’t say it here.
“This is an event for the enlightened,” the event page reads. “If you can’t understand the concept of desexualised nudity, this is not the place for you. WE ARE NOT A SEX PARTY. (We can’t help it if we’re sexy, though – liberated humans just are!) For every feminist, whatever your gender, come and experience your equality and your liberty the Doodlecats way.”
The event’s organizers have a number of measures in place to protect the safety of partygoers. If anyone is feeling alone or anxious at the event, they are encouraged to ask for “an emotional support flamingo at the door.” Moreover, “consent fairies” roam the party to provide support for anyone experiencing uncomfortable behavior.
Party in Your Pants is coming to Manchester on Friday, September 22nd at the Bread Shed. Tickets and more information are available here.
